If I can't see it, I don't believe it

Ships sailing in the sea
We are, together, driving
Alternate our eyes from face to feet
Such a thrilling feeling lurks in the thoughts that swing me
Back and forth inside the waves
What’s this fear and what is this pain
Does it always remain the same
Did I feel it yesterday
Black and dark over the edge
Laughing, moving, breathing, feeling
One moment, not looking
Every minute, not seeing
What is that beneath the surface
Look longer
Perceive it
It was always there, my dear
Circling beneath the water
It was always there, and you were just a child
Just a silly bag of wishes, bones, and blood
This temporary sway will pass
These eyes will melt
The brown will bleed
You’re a simpleton for looking
Your hollow heart suggests other reasons and meanings
Believe them and fade
