The Burden

I have everything I need when it comes to everything I haven’t asked for
I’d ask for more but I know you would not believe me
You never believe me when I speak
In a whisper that you find peculiar
A peculiar part to the story I told you
Would I had the time to tell you the hard parts
The parts that make me sit in the dark for hours and hours
Tracing my hands just for the feeling

Oh it’s not much to tell
I can’t tell it all
It sounds like you need me
You need me to sit down
And recant my sighs
I’m sorry I feel it
I’m sorry you need it this way

Yesterday felt like today and today’s like it was last weekend

In the Afternoon I Think of You

So, I said, where are you now, out loud, as if to someone
Are you in my head, or beyond these waves, just here, just there
Do you dance with fates and sing out loud just how you’ve won
Are you sitting still and hearing nothing
Can you bear that silence
Do you bear it well
Can you collapse with all your faults, lying still to soak it up
The smell so thick of what perfume
Do you love yourself like I love you
